Geschichte
Die Geschichte Colorados ist reich und vielfältig, beginnend mit den Ureinwohnerstämmen wie den Ute und Arapaho. Die Entdeckung von Gold in den 1850er Jahren führte zu einem Bevölkerungsboom und zur Gründung von Städten, von denen viele bis heute ihren historischen Charme bewahrt haben.
Der Bundesstaat wurde 1876 der 38. Bundesstaat der Union, zeitgleich mit dem hundertjährigen Bestehen der Vereinigten Staaten. Colorados Bergbau- und Landwirtschaftswurzeln haben sich zu einer vielfältigen Wirtschaft entwickelt, wobei der Tourismus nun eine bedeutende Rolle in seiner Identität spielt.
